Recomendations after dental restoration in a child

  • 1
With fillings made of composite materials, you should not eat food containing natural and artificial colors (blueberries, tea, coffee, etc.) during the first two days after tooth filling. Following this diet will help avoid darkening of the filling.
  • 2
To avoid chipping of the filling and the hard tissues of the tooth adjacent to the filling, it is not recommended to eat and chew very hard food (nuts, crackers).
  • 3
The final shade after restoration must be assessed the next day, since we are working in a rubber dam (a plate to isolate the tooth), the tooth loses moisture and becomes whiter than the rest, so the color of the restoration and the tooth color are different. Within a few hours, the tooth is re-saturated with moisture and returns to its natural color. Until the moment of correction, you have the opportunity to evaluate the restoration, and all the moments that you do not like, we can correct during the correction.
