• Color fastness. Ceramic models are resistant to staining with pigments contained in tea, coffee, wine, fruits and other products, so the braces will retain their original color throughout the entire service life.
• Reliable fixation on the teeth. The design of ceramic braces allows them to be securely fixed on the surface of the teeth, which guarantees a problem-free wearing of the system.
• High aesthetic characteristics. Ceramic braces, especially those with a white arch, are almost invisible on the teeth, which is one of the determining factors when choosing braces.
• Hypoallergenic. The materials of ceramic braces are hypoallergenic, so there are no contraindications for their installation for both children and adults.

Indications for installing braces

Installation of braces is shown in the following cases:

• anomalies in the development of individual teeth, dentition, occlusion;
• in case of diction disorders, which are the result of an incorrect bite;
• muscle and joint dysfunction;
• imperfection of the profile with an incorrect bite.

Contraindications for installing braces are:

• teeth affected by caries;
• a large number of fillings;

How is ceramic braces installed?

Installation of braces is quick and painless, and it only takes a few visits to the orthodontist. At the first visit, the oral cavity is examined. In some cases, some preparation of the oral cavity is carried out before braces are installed. First of all, they pay attention to the treatment of inflammatory processes in the gums and caries, carry out professional cleaning. If there is no need for treatment, a plan of further actions is drawn up and the approximate cost of treating disorders with the help of braces is determined.

The treatment plan is developed after the patient’s full-face and profile photos, a panoramic image of the teeth, and a teleradiography of the skull are taken. At this stage, the final cost of the treatment is determined, and during the next visit, the doctor will install the braces.

The system consists of individual braces, which are fixed to the enamel of the teeth with a special glue, and then connected together with arcs. The procedure is rather painstaking and requires a high concentration of attention, therefore it takes about 2 hours.

In the future, once every 1-3 months, the doctor adjusts or replaces the arc in order to maintain pressure, which corrects the direction of tooth growth. If the braces come off for any reason, the doctor replaces them with new ones. In some cases, patients may feel a little discomfort, minor violations of diction are possible, but all this goes away within a few days. The duration of treatment depends on the age, the severity of the bite pathology, but on average, the course of treatment lasts 10-24 months.

Hygiene during braces treatment

• brush your teeth after every meal;
• use multidirectional movements of the toothbrush, which will help to clean the bracket systems more efficiently: first, perform circular movements with the brush, and then sweep;
• the movements of the brush should not be sharp so as not to violate the integrity of the system;
• if it is not possible to brush your teeth, be sure to rinse your mouth with water or mouthwash after eating.
